African American Virtual Read In - NCTE

Every year, hundreds of celebrations of the African American Read-In take place across the country and around the world. These events feature the texts, talks, and discussions by and about African American authors and serve as a way to recognize and amplify their work.

Bethlehem Judah Church will be hosting 3 separate virtual read-in events where we will welcome authors Telisha Smith and LaNiya Smith (grandmother and granddaughter duo) to read their children’s book, and 2 other readers to read a children’s book and an essay piece by Frederick Douglass for the older audience.  The events will be on the last 3 Fridays evenings in February at 6 pm on Bethlehem-Judah Church’s Facebook page and YouTube Channel Live.
