Nashoba Brooks School DEAR: African American Read-In

February 11, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

This month we are honoring the amazing work of black poets, authors and scholars. This Friday we will be participating in a DEAR assembly; during this time our entire school will drop everything and read in community! Lower School Homeroom teachers will be selecting a picture book title to read to their class. Browse through some of the titles we have selected from our library here. All titles can be found on display next to the faculty section of the library. Middle School Homerooms will be reading a from a curated list of poetry found within this collection. Please look for the document titled “Poetry: A Celebration of Black History Month.” Please use the “Assembly Read Aloud Book/Poem Sign Up” document to share what title you will be reading with your class. We hope you feel inspired by these works of art and your classrooms are filled with meaningful conversations. Happy Reading!
