DESCRIPTION:You are invited to the 2026 African American Read-In: Celebrating Gloria Tibbs with Food for the Soul! Register to join us on February 16\, 2026 from 2:00-3:30 pm in the Miller Nichols Library room 325\, or join us virtually on Zoom. \nThe African American Read-In is a celebration of African American literature and literacy. Participate by reading excerpts from poetry\, speeches\, stories\, songs\, and other works created by African American authors and artists. Or\, just come to listen\, reflect\, and enjoy the presentations. Join us on February 16th as a listener or a presenter! \nIn 2023\, the event was renamed to honor the legacy of long-time librarian Gloria Tibbs\, who helped bring the African American Read-In to campus in 2010\, and who lovingly called the Read-Ins “food for the soul.” \nThis event is free and open to the public. Registration is required. Joining us on Zoom will not require a Zoom account.
