Taking place at an idyllic Boy Scout summer camp, the story of Aiden Navarro as a Filipino American almost-high-school student who is figuring out he might be gay, is at turns funny, infuriating, and heartbreaking. Depicting the order and camaraderie of camp—alongside the homophobia, racism, and meanness of teen boys—the story flits over friends, adults, and family, focusing mostly on the main character’s internal monologue and conversations with peers.
