Freak Show (2007) by James St. James is a very unique and compelling fiction novel, written in such a way that will keep any audience engaged. James St. James extravagantly tells the story of a boy named Billy who is just trying to fit into his new high school but at the same time be himself, which just so happens to be a teenage drag queen. James St. James really focuses on the issue of bullying in schools as well as the issue of Billy being a transgender. The reader gets taken along for the ride as Billy faces a big culture shock and many more uphill battles.
