Give a Boy a Gun introduces two fictional male teenagers Gary Searle and Brendan Lawlor. The story opens with a piece of Gary’s suicide note. In it he describes confusion for his actions, except that the want to kill himself arose from his belief that he will never be happy and he sees no point in living.
