Kathleen Jeffrie Johnson (2007) addresses a number of important and compelling issues for young adults in her most recent novel Gone. Abandonment, loneliness, teacher/student relationships, conduct of life, alcoholism, and finding home are all themes in this 2007 novel. Johnson tells the coming of age story of Connor, almost 18, and his relationship with his 31-year-old teacher.
