Sixteen-year-old Jimmy Lynch is an African-American who lives in Harlem with his mother. When he is charged with unlawful assault after his involvement in a fight at school, he’s given two choices; spend six months in a youth facility or participate in Duke Wilson’s community mentoring program and remain on probation for six months.
