The story begins with Charlie and classmate Ben sharing a kiss before a day at Truham Grammar School. Charlie had come out as gay the year before and faced much bullying. He met Ben, and they began a clandestine relationship where Charlie’s sexuality is exploited as Ben, who is publicly dating a girl, manipulates and takes advantage of his vulnerability.
