I Am J by Cris Beam (2011) is an enthralling story about the journey of J, an adolescence that feels trapped in the wrong body. J is a boy that was born a girl, now that he is in high school and going through difficult changes and in unsure what to do with his life. However he finds comfort and guidance in the most unexpected ways. First, he has to make many tough decisions and he faces the repercussions of these decisions with a strong willed mind and responsibility. J finds a way to help himself as well as those around him.
