Isobel Lingard, popular and a cheerleader, known to friends as Izzy, accepts a date with Marco Driggers, who is the first senior to ask her out. At the party, Marco drinks too much but insists on taking Izzy home. An accident occurs and Izzy wakes up in the hospital. She soon learns that her right leg will have to be amputated just below the knee.
