Reeve McClain. Jr. is approaching his tenth birthday. He lives in the Auburn St. Projects with his mother. aunt and younger sister. His mother works for a nursing home across town, so his Aunt Jolita is supposed to baby-sit Junebug and his little sister Tasha. However, Aunt Jolita usually deserts the children so she can hang around her gang of friends. Her absence forces Junebug to care for his sister.
