Fifteen-year-old narrator Will of Texas TAYSHAS High School reacts to the murder of his older brother, Shawn, by quickly taking his brother’s gun and taking the elevator down from his apartment to avenge him. At each floor on his ride down the elevator, Will is joined by a ghost who offers a new perspective on Shawn’s death and the “rules” that dictate Will’s next steps.
