Loves Me Loves, Love Me Not is about a young, adolescent, Cuban girl Maggie and her best friend Susie. They live in Miami, Florida and have been friends for most of their lives. Maggie lives with her single, loving, traditional, Cuban mother who spends many hours working at the neighborhood hospital. Her father was an aspiring doctor, but died when Maggie was three leaving her and her mother, Mami, alone.
