Censorship in Schools and Libraries Exhibit of the Long Island Coalition Against Censorship
In 1980, a heated dispute developed in Mt. Diablo, California regarding the use of Ms. magazine in the school libraries. In addition to challenging the use of the magazine as an educational tool, a community organization raised questions regarding its views on politics, feminism, lifestyle, religion, and sexuality.
