Olympia, by Dennis Bock is told in seven, linked stories that paint a portrait of a boy’s struggle with tragedy in his family, his struggle of
growing up, as well as his struggle to understand his family’s past. The center of the narrative is set in the seventies around the 1972 “Olga Korbut” games, where the many references to the Olympics begin. Peter is thirteen at the start of the novel. He lives in a suburb of Toronto, Canada with his parents, and younger sister, Ruby.
