One-Eyed Cat

Paula Fox’s novel One-Eyed Cat (1984) strategically uncovers the inner turmoil of the young protagonist Ned who, with all of his strength, attempts to keep inside one big secret. The reader is gently pulled inside the novel, right next to Ned, agonizing and struggling to figure out the type of person he is becoming as a result of concealing something that he knows he needs to admit to. Both the reader and Ned wonders what will happen to them should the secret come out for all know.
