Pay It Forward is set in the small town of Atascadero, California, where Trevor McKinney, a twelve-year-old boy in the 7th grade, takes on an assignment from his social studies class that will change his life, the lives of those close to him, and the lives of strangers that he will never meet. Reuben St. Clair, Trevor’s social studies teacher, assigns a project in which his students are required to think of an idea or plan that will change the world and make it better.
