Grade Level:
Kathryn Lasky’s book, Prank, “demands an older, capable reader because it is with scenes of shouting, sometimes with obscenities and occasional physical violence, that the author demonstrates the family’s problems.” (Ley, Terry C. 1987, p.94) The book is primarily concerned with Birdie Flynn and her family. Birdie is a conscientious student who enjoys writing, but more central to the plot of the book, is her religion.
