According to Olweus (1993, Fall) being bullied is when a person is exposed repeatedly to negative actions on the part of one or more persons. The negative action is when a person intentionally inflicts injury or discomfort upon a person. According to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (2001) half of the children in a school will be bullied in some way during the school year. Also, 10% of all children are bullied on a regular basis (p.17). This isn’t a light topic.
