Recovery Road

Recovery Road by Blake Nelson (2011) is a delightful contemporary novel about sixteen-year-old Madeleine (Maddie) Graham’s fight to overcome her battle with alcohol and drug abuse. It is a story of personal and emotional growth, as Madeleine learns the importance of setting and chasing goals, while also discovering what it means to have a healthy, mature romantic relationship. Although she makes mistakes along the way, Maddie eventually turns her life around and says goodbye to her previous life filled with destructive habits.
