After his favorite uncle is killed in an attack in London, Tom Mackie finds his family and his life is falling apart from grief. His father becomes an alcoholic, his mother leaves the family and his father abandons Tom to try to win his mother back. Tom finds himself in forged adult hood—a drug using, guitar playing college dropout—as he is left behind. Georgie, Tom’s aunt, is also struggling to keep her life together in the wake of her brother’s death. Pregnant with her ex boyfriend’s child, Georgie finds herself questioning the true meaning of family as she grieves for what has been lost and fears what has yet to come. Together, Tom and Georgie wade through grief together and try to put their shattered family back together again.
