Ttyl (2004), the third book written by Lauren Myracle, acclaimed author of Kissing Kate (2003), is the story, written entirely in instant-messenger format, of three fifteen year old girls. The three girls, Zoe, Angela, and Maddie, are best friends struggling with the harrowing realities of high school. Angela is dealing with issues of relationships and sex, Maddie is struggling to be accepted, and Zoe is trying to secretly escape the unwanted attentions of a male teacher; and all girls are trying to discover their identities and the meaning of true friendship. Lauren Myracle successfully tells the stories of these three girls, and their journey through the trials and tribulations of adolescence, to explore issues of acceptance and friendship.
