African American Book Read-In with Buford City Schools

Buford City Schools students in grades kindergarten through fifth hosted an African American book read-in by participating in the following activities throughout the month of February.

*Kindergarten: Guests read books by African American authors virtually or in-person; teachers read books by African American authors to their classes; media center had a special display of books written by African American authors

First-Third: Virtual guests read books to classes; teachers switched classrooms and read to other classes;  Third grade classes were visited virtually by local 9 year African American author who read his first book. He also provided a few copies of his book for the media centers and students. Media center had a special display of books written by African American authors.
