Welcome to the NCTE event calendar! Here, you can find a list of events, including webinars, workshops, and in-person conferences. These events provide opportunities for English language arts teachers to learn new strategies and techniques, network with colleagues, and stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in the field.

If you have an event that you would like to submit to be included on the NCTE event calendar, please fill out the event submission form. To be considered, events must align with the mission of NCTE and be of professional interest to English language arts teachers. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!

African-American Read In at the Exeter Public Library

February 28, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

In honor of Black History Month, we invite community members to the African American Read-In on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the Exeter Public Library. If you’d like to read, please bring a short reading by an African-American author to share. Send questions to Courtney Marshall (cmarshall@exeter.edu).

The National African American Read-In (AARI) is a groundbreaking effort to encourage communities to read together, centering African American books and authors. It was established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English to make literacy a significant part of Black History Month.

This event is co-sponsored by the Exeter Public Library. Refreshments will be served.
