Welcome to the NCTE event calendar! Here, you can find a list of events, including webinars, workshops, and in-person conferences. These events provide opportunities for English language arts teachers to learn new strategies and techniques, network with colleagues, and stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in the field.
If you have an event that you would like to submit to be included on the NCTE event calendar, please fill out the event submission form. To be considered, events must align with the mission of NCTE and be of professional interest to English language arts teachers. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!

African American Read-In sponsored by The Topeka (KS) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated

The African American Read-In is a cherished annual tradition introduced to Topeka by our esteemed member and lifelong educator, Beverly Caruthers Thompson, whose legacy continues to inspire us since her passing in 2022. For 26 years, the Topeka (KS) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has proudly honored this celebration of the richness and beauty of African American literature.
We invite Black authors from all genres to participate in our upcoming event and help us amplify the cultural impact of African American voices in literature.
Why Participate?
- Showcase Your Work to an engaged audience passionate about elevating Black voices.
- Be Part of a National Movement that promotes literacy, cultural awareness, and community connection.
Join us in continuing this powerful tradition.
