Welcome to the NCTE event calendar! Here, you can find a list of events, including webinars, workshops, and in-person conferences. These events provide opportunities for English language arts teachers to learn new strategies and techniques, network with colleagues, and stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in the field.
If you have an event that you would like to submit to be included on the NCTE event calendar, please fill out the event submission form. To be considered, events must align with the mission of NCTE and be of professional interest to English language arts teachers. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!
If you’re hosting an event you’d like to share, submit your event here.

African American Read-In with the MNU Library
February 9, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The National African American Read-In is the nation’s first and oldest event dedicated to diversity in literature.
MNU Library, MNU’s Diversity Advisory Council, and the Olathe Public Library will co-host Olathe’s 3rd Annual Celebration of this event as a virtual event on February 9, 2021, from 4:00-4:45 pm through Zoom for the campus and community.
All members of the campus and the broader community are welcome to submit 1-2 literary works that they would like to read during the event to library@mnu.edu. Literary works can be anything from poetry, to a novel excerpt, to a non-fiction excerpt, to a song.
You may submit to read at the celebration, which will take place virtually from 4:00 – 4:45 pm through the following link: https://protect-us.mimecast.com/s/5dcNCDkAlEcQVoyFWvqMI?domain=zoom.us
The deadline for accepting submissions is January 20. A program/event timeline will be sent to all participants a week before the event, so that you will know the specific order you will read your excerpts.
