These events provide opportunities for English language arts teachers to learn new strategies and techniques, network with colleagues, and stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in the field.

Burbank Elementary School and Burbank AASAI African American Read-In

Burbank Elementary School and Burbank AASAI (African American Student Achievement
Initiative) invite you to join us in celebrating Black History Month and the joy of reading by
participating in our African American Literature Read-In! The Read-In will be on Thursday, Feb 9th. Volunteer readers will visit one or more of our classrooms (Kindergarten through 6th grade)
and read aloud a book (or poem, storytelling, etc.) written by an African American author. You may
select one of the books provided from our library (English or Spanish for our Dual Language
classrooms), or bring one of your own favorites.
