Celebrating the Works of Nikki Giovanni

Snow Hill Elementary School will host their fifth annual African American Read-In on Thursday, February 20th to celebrate the works of beloved poet and children’s book author, Nikki Giovanni. Readers from the community will read Giovanni’s book of poems, The Sun Is So Quiet, to students in grades prekindergarten through third. After listening to the poems, students will engage in poetry writing activities.
