CTL’s African-American Read-In

February 7, 2023

Free

CTL students look forward to this annual event, in which African-American authors, poets, and illustrators are elevated and celebrated. In Kindergarten through 8th grade, we will start the day by meeting in cross-age groupings to read, and share, books by African-American authors, and illustrators, with one another. In addition, middle-school students will explore works by African-American poets, craft literary letters to one another, and present book talks about texts by African-American authors. Teachers and students alike select African-American books for displays throughout the school, showcased in all reading rooms. Families are welcome to join in this reverent day of literature.
