Dinner & A Movie Pt 1: The Talk Between the World & Me
January 15, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Part 1 of a 3 part series of films designed to spark conversations across generations. A screening of a short section of Between the world and me (film based on Ta-Nehisi Coates 2015 publication) will be connected to questions about why teaching the Civil Rights Movement can cause some harm to children. The biggest part of our conversation will be related to “the Talk” that families must have about police brutality and protecting themselves in this very different world in comparison to what other families do. Guest chefs Fern & Larry Spruill will be here to serve us with soul food for our mind, recipes and insights from their heart to our mind. Registration will be required at https://tinyurl.com/y3wfh8h8
