These events provide opportunities for English language arts teachers to learn new strategies and techniques, network with colleagues, and stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in the field.

Family Literacy Night- A Ticket to Write
February 27, 2025 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
The Thomas Family Literacy and Writing Connection Night for grades 3-5 will engage families in helping children make the connection to writing and practice essential writing skills at home. A “Ticket to Write” will be the theme for this event. The skills aimed at the event will include but are not limited to: writing descriptions, word choice and recalling details. These skills will improve a child’s ability to write clear, effective, and descriptive compositions. Three (3) take-home high-interest books will also be available for families to take home to help grow their home library.
At each event, Family Tip Sheets will be available that highlight reading and writing milestones that families can reference to support their children’s literacy development and writing growth at home. Each family will also receive a Certificate of Participation as well.
