These events provide opportunities for English language arts teachers to learn new strategies and techniques, network with colleagues, and stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in the field.

Lift Every Voice Community Read-In
The Lift Every Voice Community Read-In is a community outreach activity to promote literacy and encourage people to read literature by Black authors. It is a free event hosted by Union Baptist Church and is open to the public. In addition to books and materials available to read participants will watch a movie highlighting Black history. Local volunteers will read to and with the younger children. The manager from the local credit union will share the importance of financial literacy, as well. Severl local vendors will be there to sell their wares making this a comfortable space for the community to come together.
