Lunch & Learn Book Discussion – African American Read-In

February 25, 2023 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

It’s Black History Month, and the Honors Program is supporting the African American Read-In sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English with a Lunch & Learn book discussion led by Dr. Josie Brown, Dean of Point Park’s School of Arts & Sciences on Friday, February 24 from 11:30am – 1pm. Refreshments will be provided!

Discussion will center on Kindred by Octavia Butler, a “visionary time-travel classic whose Black female hero is pulled through time to face the horrors of American slavery and explores the impacts of racism, sexism, and white supremacy then and now” (Amazon). We invite you to read the novel, read the graphic novel, or just join us for discussion and to learn more about the impact of this work. All are welcome, so register and invite a friend (or several!).
