Welcome to the NCTE event calendar! Here, you can find a list of events, including webinars, workshops, and in-person conferences. These events provide opportunities for English language arts teachers to learn new strategies and techniques, network with colleagues, and stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in the field.
If you have an event that you would like to submit to be included on the NCTE event calendar, please fill out the event submission form. To be considered, events must align with the mission of NCTE and be of professional interest to English language arts teachers. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!

National African American Read In at the Calaboose African American History Museum
February 4, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
FreeThe Dr. Skyller Walkes Library of African American Studies will be open on Saturday, February 4, 2023, so the public can come in and read books about Black history. This is a non-lending library. You can sit at Cephas House, across the street from the Calaboose, and read books written for adults, but we also have many beautiful picture books for children. You will be asked to read at least for 20 minutes to be counted as a participant in this event. We will have student essay winners at 11:00 am reading their essays on their favorite Black author. This is a free event, and all are welcome.
