Northwest University African American Read-In - National Council of Teachers of English

Welcome to the NCTE event calendar! Here, you can find a list of events, including webinars, workshops, and in-person conferences. These events provide opportunities for English language arts teachers to learn new strategies and techniques, network with colleagues, and stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in the field.

If you have an event that you would like to submit to be included on the NCTE event calendar, please fill out the event submission form. To be considered, events must align with the mission of NCTE and be of professional interest to English language arts teachers. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!

Northwest University African American Read-In

February 1, 2023 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Sigma Tau Delta, the English Department of Northwest University, and ENGL 3253 African American Literature are sponsoring our seventh annual African American Read In, an outreach of the National Council of Teachers of English. Students and faculty are welcome to read poems, excerpts of short stories and novels, sermons, essays, hip hop lyrics, and scenes from plays–any work written by Black writers. Dr. Bryan will also have a collection of favorite works for those who would like to participate spontaneously. The public is certainly welcome to join us!
