RMS African American Read-In

Renfroe Middle School is celebrating the AARI by asking the school community to read a book by a Black author during the month of February.  RMS is also participating in a virtual book fair with Brave and Kind, a Black-owned independent bookstore.  In addition, Chrystal Giles, author of Take Back the Block, will be speaking virtually to students to discuss her debut middle grade book.  On February 26th, students will drop everything and read a book by a Black author during the English Language Arts class.   Students are also sharing 1st chapter read alouds of Look Both Ways by Jason Reynolds, Harbor Me and Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson, King and the Dragon Flies by Kacen Callender, and Clean Get Away by Nic Stone.
