Service-Learning Project: NCTE African American Read-in

March 4, 2024 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

I will be hosting an African American Read-in at Cross Creek Early College High School. I will be reading Weary Blues by Langston Hughes, Yellow Dog Blues by Alice Faye Duncan and Blues Journey by Walter Dean Myers. I will then discuss these readings with the students and compare and contrast similarities and differences, reoccurring themes, etc. The exact number of participants is unknown, but it will be over 10 students.
