Call for Nominations for NCTE Offices

The online nomination form for the 2025 NCTE election ballot is now closed. If you have additional nominations to submit, please email elections@ncte.org or attend one of the Nominating Committee open meetings during the 2024 NCTE Annual Convention. See the Convention program for meeting times.

CANDIDATES NEEDED FOR THE 2025 NCTE BALLOT 

CANDIDATES NEEDED FOR THE NCTE BALLOT 

Vice President—two candidates drawn from theCollege Section(Section means voting section, regardless of teaching level); one to be elected  

Elementary Representative-at-Large—two candidates, who must be members of the Elementary Section and classroom teachers (grades preK–5) at the time of nomination; one to be elected 

Middle Representative-at-Large—two candidates, who must be members of the Middle Level Section and classroom teachers (grades 5–9) at the time of nomination; one to be elected 

Trustees of the Research Foundation—two candidates, who must be voting members of NCTE; one to be elected  

NCTE Nominating Committeecandidates shall represent geographic diversity and be grouped by voting Section (Elementary, Middle Level, Secondary, College). For 2024–2025: 

  • Three members of the Elementary section; one to be elected  
  • Six members of the Middle Level section; two to be elected  
  • Three members of the Secondary section; one to be elected  
  • Three members of the College section; one to be elected

Two candidates (Middle Level Section members) for the Middle LevelSection Steering Committee; one to be elected

Secondary Section 

Six candidates (NCTE members) for the 2024–25 SecondarySection Nominating Committee; three to be elected  

College Section

Literacies and Languages for All (LLA) 

Two candidates for the LLA Executive Board; one to be elected  

Two (international) candidates for the LLA Executive Board; one to be elected  

Two-Year College English Association (TYCA) 

Two candidates for TYCA Associate Chair; one to be elected

IT IS IMPORTANTto submit nominations byNovember 15, 2024.  

NOTE: Most nominating committees contact only those individuals who will be formally invited to run for office. Results of the NCTE, NCTE Section, ELATE, LLA, and TYCA Nominating Committees’ deliberations are announced on the NCTE website and in the appropriate March and April journals. If you wish to notify your nominees before then, you can get the final slate of candidates by contacting elections@ncte.org after February 1, 2025.
