NCTE’s Elementary Teacher Cohort is seeking self-nominations for two open positions this fall. The cohort, in its second year, is designed to support elementary classroom teachers and amplify their voices. Cohort members work together to create a monthly publication that supports teachers at all levels of experience, including those who are early in their careers. Classroom Corridors: Expertise and Inspiration from Elementary Teachers is a multimodal must-have for NCTE members, featuring classroom stories, implementation strategies, and downloadable resources. The online publication can be accessed by NCTE members at ClassroomCorridors.org.
Elementary classroom teachers are invited to apply to join our Elementary Cohort that oversees the monthly publication of Classroom Corridors, invites teacher writers to contribute to Classroom Corridors, plans and facilitates accompanying webinars, and is committed to building a community of teacher leaders. Teachers will bring their own knowledge and experience to a collaborative effort with a tangible result.
The cohort meets monthly as a whole group (via Zoom) as well as in small groups throughout the month to create monthly issues of Classroom Corridors and corresponding webinars. Your participation will be supported with travel, lodging, and registration for the 2025 NCTE Annual Convention, where you will take part in activities to build community and meet with potential writers for the publication. Cohort members will also receive a stipend of $1,500 for successful completion in August 2026.
