Alex Corbitt, Ph.D. (@Alex_Corbitt) taught middle school English in the Bronx, New York. He is now an assistant professor of literacy at SUNY Cortland. His research focuses on critical literacies, gaming, and speculative fiction. 

Sonam Shahani is a middle grade ELA educator of over 11 years and currently serves on the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Middle Level Committee, advocating for the teaching profession on a national platform. Sonam received her bachelor’s degree at The University of Texas at Austin and her master’s degree at Johns Hopkins University, and has enjoyed teaching middle school students at American schools abroad and in the United States. She currently resides in Houston, Texas.
