Ecumenical Loyalties: Reading the Luminaries of the Black Freedom Movement at Saint Peter’s College

At noon on Monday, February 28, 2022, join Dr. John Johnson, Jr. for a Saint Peter’s University Sesquicentennial Signature Event in honor of Black History Month. This multimedia presentation, “Ecumenical Loyalties: Reading the Luminaries of the Black Freedom Movement at Saint Peter’s College,” explores the works of important Civil Rights activists, who visited Saint Peter’s, including Bayard Rustin (’64), Martin Luther King, Jr. (’65), Dick Gregory (’69), Jesse Jackson (’72), Amiri Baraka (’72), Shirley Chisholm (’73), Mary Lou Williams (’74), and Coretta Scott King (’75).
