Gilliam School & Youth Services Center Black History Month Readathon

February 1, 2021 @ 8:00 am - February 28, 2021 @ 5:00 pm

Over the course of February, students and staff alike are engaging with a Readathon to see who can read the most minutes and books over the course of each week and the month as a whole. While all reading is accepted towards the count, Black History texts and Black authors have been spotlighted in the library and are being encouraged throughout the month.

Students will also take part in weekly pod competitions in celebration of Black History & modern Black Leaders (door decorating competition, etc) and meetings throughout the week both in and out of school discussing Black Leaders and their contributions to the Black Community and the fight for Equity.
