Please note with your committee member considerations the NCTE Policy on Involvement of People of Color (https://ncte.org/get-involved/volunteer/elections/election-policies/) and NCTE’s policy to include classroom teachers in leadership roles and opportunities, adopted by the Executive Committee in July 2019: "To promote access to leadership roles and opportunities in policy making, the Presidential Team, Executive Committee, and NCTE staff will include preK–12 classroom teachers in all appointed groups as well as sustain its ongoing commitment to racial, cultural, and ethnic diversity."
