Celebrating 50 Years of the National Writing Project

NCTE celebrates the National Writing Project (NWP) on the occasion of its 50th year. The organizations have a storied and shared history, including a remarkable overlap of contributions from leaders in the field. We hold shared commitments around the expertise of teachers in writing and the importance of leveraging the knowledge, expertise, and leadership of our nation’s educators to advance the teaching of writing and the use of writing as a learning tool.
