NCTE Condemns All Hateful Incidents in Stance Against Anti-Asian Violence

With deep condolences and heavy hearts, we mourn the eight lost lives, six of whom were women of Asian descent, in the shooting that occurred in Atlanta, Georgia. We also acknowledge the intense pain that this tragedy has brought to the victims’ families, friends, and communities. We stand in solidarity, firm in our belief that violence, discrimination, and hatred against Asian people are unacceptable and represent an assault against all of humanity.

As a professional organization, NCTE fully condemns all hateful incidents in our stance against anti-Asian violence. We will continue to move forward with our collective vision of working for a world in which all people are truly free and live without prejudice, hate, and harm.
