In the Spring, Governor Asa Hutchinson formed a commission to make recommendations for Arkansas’ continued use of the Common Core. The Governor’s Councilvoted unanimously today to approve the draft of the common core recommendations. They will now go to the Governor. These recommendations include (1) revising some of the CCSS standards to better fit local contexts and (2) renaming the CCSS for Arkansas. No news yet on how significant the revisions will be.
