Arkansas has been in the process of revising the CCSS – ELA standards to make them “Arkansas – specific”. This process was initiated at the bequest of the newly (then) elected governor. The process started in summer 2015 with the creation of a task-force charged with the task of investigating the CCSS adoption and implementation in Arkansas and to make recommendations to the governor and state department of education.

The process has now reached a point where teachers throughout the state have met to revise the CCSS – ELA standards. The first phase of these revisions have been posted for public comment and review.
