The Indiana Commission for Higher Education (Indianapolis) is reviewing the impact of extant online education and alternative learning models across Indiana colleges. In a December 12, 2012 meeting, national and state presenters sought to expand teaching opportunities that offer students better access to courses, more modes of access, and quicker degree completion, while maintaining academic rigor. This review process is in keeping with the Commission’s strategic plan “Reaching Higher, Achieving More”. The Indiana Commission for Higher Education is exploring the work of Dr. Andrew Ng, Stanford University professor and co-founder of the educational delivery company Coursera.
The Indiana Commission for Higher Education was created
in 1971 to create and fulfill the mission of Indiana higher education and state
