Indiana Commission of Higher Education (ICHE), Department of Education, and Adult Basic Education, and other education providers have been working independently on creating literacy frameworks with a vision towardsforming a comprehensive statewide literacy initiative that would cover respectively–P-16, Adult Ed, and the workplace. Mr. Samuel Snideman, ICHE Director of Alignment and Readiness, reported that there is “a lot of interest, many good intentions, and a desire for a focused literacy plan” in the near future.
